Kylie Hebb

got in touch with Amy and gave them a description of what I'd like and she worked with me to create the most beautiful design. I was so blown away by their outstanding linework and shading. The tattoo parlor itself is so incredible and displays gorgeous artwork showcasing all the artists' work. Everyone who was around during my session was super friendly and respectful, and you could tell that this is a close-knit community. I immediately felt welcomed and I got the most beautiful tattoo, too! I can't wait to go back :)

FAQS

What happens if I’m late for my appointment?

Anything more than 15 minutes and your deposit will be forfeit.

Do you have a wait list or a cancellation list?

We don’t, but if an artist is looking to fill a last minute empty spot they will post in their Instagram story (set yourself to get notifications when they post so you don’t miss a thing)

Do you need a deposit to book in?

We ask for a $50 deposit to confirm your appointment Your deposit will be valid and transferable for six months after your original appointment, if you need to postpone or reschedule your appointment.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to move or cancel your appointment Cancelling or rescheduling within 48 hours of your appointment forfeits your deposit.

Do you offer piercings?

No, but we recommend Skin Decision.

Do you take walk-ins?

No, we don’t normally have space in our schedule for walk-in’s.

Do you tattoo minors?

We tattoo 16 years old and up with parental consent up until 18 years old.

How can I pay for my tattoo?

Cash is preferred for payments, we also accept e-transfer.

Do you accept tips?

Tattoos are expensive, and tattoo artists get paid fairly well, so tipping is never expected. But it is always appreciated and let’s us know you’re happy with the services we provided. All our artists agree that tipping for a tattoo shouldn’t necessarily be based on a percentage of the total cost, but rather just a gesture. The folks who do tip, sometimes tip anywhere from $10 to $100, or with food or small gifts or smokeables. Either way, tip or not, let us know if you love your piece and your time in the shop! That being said, tipping may be a flawed system but many folks rely on it as a part of their income, so please tip your other service providers.

Did you get my email?

Check your spam folder if you’ve been waiting for an email from the shop; if not don’t worry, it normally takes us a few days to a week to get through all the emails.

What does “Books Closed” mean?

Books closed means the artist is booked up for a few months and they have decided to stop taking new appointments to catch up and give new folks an opportunity to book in. You may reschedule your appointment while the books are closed, but you cannot book a new appointment at that time.

Will I get to see the tattoo design before my appointment?

Unfortunately not, the artist’s don’t normally draw the pieces that far in advance. But you will have the opportunity at the beginning of your appointment to look at your design and make sure everything feels right before the artist begins tattooing.

What won’t you tattoo?

Each artist will not tattoo outside of their respective style unless consulted with. We do not do inner lip tattoos, as the skin inside the mouth regenerates so regularly (it would end up being a temporary tattoo)We do not tattoo anything with religious or cultural meaning that is not of the artist's own culture, unless the client is of that culture or religion and requests it. We do not do micro tattoos, or water color style We do not tattoo the Canadian flag as we do not support nationalism on stolen indigenous land.

Do you offer touchups?

Free touch ups by the original artist within 6 months (no deposit needed). Touch-ups on other artist’s work is up to the artists and normally decided on a case by case basis.

What if I’m not pleased with the placement or design before my tattoo begins?

You can move your stencil, change the size, pick a different placement, and even alter the design slightly if you don’t feel happy about how the stencil looks on you before you start tattooing.

What if I don’t like the way my tattoo turned out?

Please do tell us, we might be able to change or alter or make suggestions before you leave or after it’s healed.

Can I take breaks during my appointment?

Feel free to take breaks and pause as often as needed. Don’t be afraid to talk to your tattoo artist openly about your pain tolerance.

Can I wear headphones during the tattoo?

Absolutely, whatever would make you feel most comfortable.

How should I prepare for my first tattoo, or any tattoo for that matter?

Come well rested, well fed and hydrated. You’re encouraged to bring a water bottle and a small snack. Increase your water intake a couple weeks prior to getting a tattoo to hydrate the skin. Don't take any painkillers or drink alcohol before your tattoo as this thins the blood and leads to more complications.

Where’s the least painful place to get tattooed?

Tattoo pain factors include your respective pain tolerance, where on your body you get the tattoo, the style of tattoo, as well as the artist doing the tattooingAreas on your body with the most muscle are normally the least painful. Try to stay away from places with thin skin like your inner elbow and feet or hands, or any place where your bones are near your skin without much muscle or tissue between. (ex. knees, ribs, chest, feet, hands)

Aftercare Instructions

ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE HANDLING YOUR TATTOO!

If your artist has covered your tattoo with a clear adhesive bandage called Saniderm:

1. Keep it on for up to 5 days and keep it out of water for extended periods of time the

same as otherwise recommended.

2. After five days or if the bandage starts to peel and your tattoo is exposed, remove

the saniderm under warm water and proceed with the regular recommended

treatment of washing regularly and moisturizing.

3. If swelling, discomfort, or redness occurs on the skin outside of the tattoo (but

under the bandage) you may be having an allergic reaction or adhesive sensitivity.

Remove the bandage and clean the area with unscented soap. To soothe redness,

itchiness, and discomfort, use an unscented moisturizer. If symptoms persist,

consult a doctor.

If your artist has covered your tattoo with a non-adhesive absorbent pad:

1. Keep your bandage on for at least six hours. You may leave it on overnight if you so

choose.

2. Once the bandage is removed, wash with warm water and unscented bar soap. Pat

dry with a clean paper towel.

3. Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer, such as Lubriderm or Cetaphil. ‘Tattoo

Care’ lotions, which you can find in most drugstores, are also acceptable, but

everyone can have a different reaction to certain ingredients.

4. Wash the tattoo twice daily with unscented soap, and use lotion as needed to

prevent dryness. You may wash your tattoo in the shower, but do not allow the

tattoo to soak (avoid baths, swimming pools, hot tubs, lakes, and the ocean during

the healing period.

5. Allow scabbing/flaking to come off on its own. Do not pick at your tattoo! Keep

clean and continue to use lotion until all scabbing flakes off (usually within 7-10

days). Wear clean and loose clothing to protect the tattoo during the healing

process.

6. Do not expose a healing tattoo to sun, unclean conditions, irritating clothing, or

anything that may hinder healing. Avoid contact between your tattoo and any

animals.

7. The tattoo should heal within 2-3 weeks. If you develop any complications with your

tattoo, seek immediate medical attention from your family doctor or a walk-in

clinic.

If you show symptoms of, or contract Covid-19 within 14 days of getting your tattoo, please email us as soon as possible.
